1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Simple and fun, May 31, 2012 By This review is from: Vilano Drift Fixed Gear / Single Speed Road Bike 2012 (Misc.) Ordered on a Saturday and received it on Tuesday, it arrived before I even got the email that it had shipped. The gear ratio is perfect, picks up speed really quickly. Its sharp, light, and looks fantastic. I don't think you're gonna find a better deal than this. Assembly was straightforward and easy.
You have what you paid for. ie cheap., July 23, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Vilano Drift Fixed Gear / Single Speed Road Bike 2012 (Misc.) Based on the pictures, the bike looks mean and the deal incredible.. here's a hand down review Hope it helps
Good part:
Thing is: the bike, at 240$, is dirt cheap, so do not expect much off it. With that i mind, and a little work, you end up with a decent looking bike, fit to take you where you want, to lock every where without being afraid to have it stolen or taken apart (well, it would hurt way less than my 1500$ road bike.) For my part, I stripped all the stickers, changed the tires and pedals and voilà. The bike looks good and fast. That's very important in Hipsters town.
Amazon Service and shipping was excellent and very fast
Bad part:
The box came in very beaten. Of course, it showed on the bike. Few paint chips and dents. But the worst was the fork. Either done by a shock or plain out of the chinese sweat shop, it was impossible to fit the wheel axle through the fork's "openings". It had been badly crooked. Being manual, I was... Read more
Nice commuter, July 22, 2012 By Klaus F (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews This review is from: Vilano Drift Fixed Gear / Single Speed Road Bike 2012 (Misc.) I've had my Vilano for almost 3 months now. This is a solid bike, especially considering the price - you could easily spend $100 more but I doubt you'd get a better bike.
I've been using mine to commute to work (12 miles round trip) about 3 times a week. Other than a few flats from road debris (which happens to all bikes), I've not had a single issue with the bike. I havent' upgraded anything yet, I just added a saddle bag and clipless pedals.
The bike is gear very well for flat roads and can handle moderate hills without too much difficulty. It handles well and makes an excellent, simple commuter bike.
